Fowlers Kitchen - John's Scones


10 cups SR Flour

1 teas sugar per 2 cups of flour

1/2 salt per 2 cups of flour

400-500g butter

Milk to mix


Sift flour, salt & sugar.

Soften butter then rub into flour using fingertips. 

Make well in centre of flour, slowly add milk, using a plate knife to "cut" the mix. 

Continue adding milk until dough is just combined.

Put on floured surface, gently squeeze into a ball then "pat" out on bench until

approx 3 cm thick.  Cut dough with scone cutter into rounds, place on greased tray, brush with milk.

Bake 190 degrees C for 8-10 mins.
